A create-your-own jewelry workshop will be held next weekend at the create-your-own candle store in the Irvine Spectrum.
The workshop, called “Jewelry For The Soul,” runs from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 14. Local jewelry designer Shari Cheves will be running the workshop. Participants will be able to make a unique bracelet from various stones similar to the one pictured above for $65. Organizers say space is limited and you can reserve one by calling at 949-753-7873.
I’m pretty curious about the create-your-own candle store myself. The store, called Pure Light, is located in the Irvine Spectrum Center next to the Nordstroms and the Giant Wheel. Apparently it has been open since June and inside you can make a candle from various fragrances, colors and shapes and then decorate it with different items. My favorite idea is that you can put a hidden note as a message in a bottle that I assume is revealed when the candle burns down.
I’ll follow up and see if I can’t get some photos of the shop. There’s another Pure Light shop in Laguna Canyon which was covered before.
If anyone has visited either of these stores, let us know in the comments what it’s like or what making your own candle is all about.
This is a really fun workshop. It would be a great activity to do with a friend or relative. With Christmas on the way it makes me wish my mom lived closer so I could bring her. And it felt good to create something unique.
Pure Light in Laguna Beach is such a unique space that must be experienced first-hand. This space was once warehouse-like studios for Laguna College of Art and Design transformed by Judy Kelly (owner) into a create-your-own candle studio/ retail space. When you walk in you feel at peace as if you were on a nature-walk. I feel what is special about this store is its magical ambiance created by hanging lanterns, organics, and pleasant aromas. If your looking for a place to get away for a while and re-center yourself for a couple of hours, this is it.
Shari is an amazing designer who is very gifted at guiding people to create their own one of a kind bracelet. Shari is very knowledgeable about all the wide range of gemstones that are available for you to choose from. These inspiried bracelets made great gifts for the holiday and don’ts forget to get one for yourself. Pure Light is the perfect place to have this special event because it truley radiates inspiration and light!
Laguna Beach is known for being an artistic community and Pure Light gives everyone the opportunity to express and enlighten. It’s currently tucked back in the shops next to the famous Sawdust Festival grounds, and owner Judy Kelly has created a space that feels much farther away from our busy SoCal lifestyle. On one visit I personally observed the power of its ambiance firsthand, as a patron was drawn in, in need of a lifting of the spirit. The shop has a wonderful candle making area, where you can pick and choose from a variety of scents, charms and colors to perfectly fit your mood or occasion. Relax with an elixir or tea, create and be cleansed. The patron you ask?, left renewed and refreshed.
