Way Basics makes furniture from 99 percent recycled paper that can be put together with no tools. It’s lighter than particle board and strong enough to stand on.

Some assembly required: just pull off some paper and press two pieces together. Then repeat.

The company was named a semifinalist, one of 13,  in the Newpreneur competition. Now it comes down to voting to select the final five to compete in San Francisco on Nov. 18.
