UPDATE: Chipotle joins the program, woohoo!
Good tip: the Irvine Spectrum Center Curbside To-Go Program lets you get food from most of the restaurants in the center brought straight out to your car.
There are two locations. The first is at the Gateway Valet near P.F. Chang’s. If you order from there you can get food from P.F. Chang’s, the California Pizza Kitchen and Ruby’s Diner.
The second location is at Myrtles Valet near Dave & Buster’s. That location delivers The Veggie Grill, Johnny Rockets, Crepe Maker, Panda Express, Red Robin and Subway. No Chipotle. Boo! That’s one of my favorites.
Simply call ahead and place your order. There’s a sign curbside with all the restaurant phone numbers if you can’t search for it on your phone or you don’t have it handy.
The service is available from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Curbside service isn’t available on Saturdays. I’ll have to follow up and ask the Spectrum why not. Too busy, maybe?
Best part, it doesn’t cost anything extra.
Let us know in the comments if this is the type of thing you’d use, or if you’ve already used it.
Also, if you complain in the comments about Americans being fat because they can’t get out of their car to pick up their food I will: 1.) Be very disappointed. 2.) Start a psychic hotline.
Thanks to the great Niyaz Pirani for the tip.

Anyone who claims that Americans are fat becaust they can’t get out of their car has never tried to wrestle a 2 year old back into his car seat while trying to not drop the food.
My family gets take out once a week, and because of my hyperactive son, I usually to delivery or fastfood. This is on my way home, and a nice option.
Fabulous idea! I am so going to use this service. Just last weekend I thought about getting food from P.F. Changs but didn’t want to eat at the restaurant. It seemed like such a hassle to go there just to pick it up. This is great!
What a great idea! There are some of us who can’t walk long distances (fractured ankle) so couldn’t make it to the restaurant. This is the next best thing to a drive-through … sure wish more restaurants would adopt this policy.
Also parking is a hassle sometimes too.
Oh my gosh, I broke my leg two weeks and 4 days ago. I am totally in on this. Thank you so much.
It actually will make it easier for those who WANT to stay at Irvine Spectrum because it will free up parking spaces. At least in the area near Corner Bakery at Irvine Spectrum they have parking spots set aside for 15 minute parking for picking stuff up. I don’t know if they enforce it though!
Ian, the reason it is not availible on Sats is because the curbside is actually in the valet parking spaces. The valet can and usually is at max capacity on weekend nights. There would be no curbside for anyone to park at.
