Irvine home sales down 16%

The latest home-selling stats from DataQuick — for the 22 business days leading to Dec. 16, 2008 — show the following trends in Irvine.

  • Single-family houses were priced $54,352 — or 7.8% — below the median of $694,937 at the same time period a year ago. Countywide, the median slid 42% below the peak median of $734,000 in June 2007.
  • Four of the city’s 8 ZIP codes experiences sales drops, while 4 saw upticks.
  • Overall, home-buying across Irvine was down 16% vs. the same period in 2007.
