Unidentified thieves pilfered top-secret clothing samples from Rusty North America’s Headquarters in Irvine over Christmas break, reports Surf Junkie Jeff at the Register’s Beach Blog.

The surf company’s Ecostretch Hybrid boardshorts and many of its 2009 fall and holiday samples were among the stolen items.

Writes Jeff:

“Irvine Police Lt. Rick Handfield said the burglars entered the office sometime between Dec. 24 and Dec. 29 by breaking and removing glass from one side of the building.

The burglars didn’t take any of the company’s computers, tv’s, digital photography equipment, or valuable surfboards.  Handfield said the estimated loss from the stolen garments was $2,100.”

Stay tuned for more information.
