The Irvine Co.-owned Orchard Hills Village Center at Portola Parkway and Culver Drive will christen spring on Saturday with an afternoon of entertainment, cooking demonstrations and in-store promotions. “A Taste of Spring” will take over the shopping and dining center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Chefs Atsushi Yokoyama (Ayame Fine Japanese Cuisine by Zipangu), Zov Karamardian (Zov’s Café, Bakery & Bar) and Pablo Padilla (Johnnie’s New York Delicatessen) will show attendees the scientific and creative vigor behind their culinary specialties. The newly opened WineStyles will also offer food-and-drink pairing tips.
Mariachi bands, school choirs, swing dancers and other acts are scheduled to perform. For kids (and adults with kidlike tastes), there will be face painters and balloon artists.
