The cult of Pinkberry invades Irvine next week when the third Orange County location of the popular frozen yogurt chain opens at Irvine Spectrum Center. (UPDATE: Pinkberry officials say the opening has been pushed back, possibly to Feb. 29).
Pinkberry – largely credited with making the “swirly goodness” of frozen yogurt hip since opening its first location in West Hollywood in January 2005 – will be the first tenant to welcome customers in a new 21,756-square-foot addition to the Spectrum in a previously open area next to the entrance of the Edwards Theatres. With the add-on, the shopping center boasts 1,132,000 million square feet of space.
New businesses in the addition will have staggered launches in the coming months. See’s Candies will relocate there from the other end of the center by the end of February. Izakaya Wasa will start dishing up Japanese fare starting in April. Wine bar and restaurant The Rustic, Ruby’s Diner and Tommy Bahama will open this summer.
Elsewhere in the center, For Love 21, Active Ride Shop, and DC Shoes are to open this summer.
